glancing at the pictures in the first link, the art's style is not consistent at all.

Stolen from the Dungeon. :x

I'm still not sure how to feel about all this next-gen stuff, considering I won't have either system necessary to play Lords of Shadow. Sad

As long as IGA hasn't been fired, I'm fine with another deveoper trying to take a shot at making a good 3D game. First it was KCEK, then IGA's team, then 8ing, now Kojima Pro. and Mercury Steam.

I guess that haunting mask image on Kojima's project site is the third and final game he's making. Raiden is in MGS: Rising, Big Boss is in MGS: Peace Walker, and that mask must have something to do with Lords of Shadow, at the very least.

EDIT: Hmmm...we didn't hear shit about Lords of Shadow for months...and all we got from IGA was that a PS3/360 Castlevania game was being made.

Could both games have been the same thing all along? That maybe there are two characters to play as, Alucard and Gabriel?

Umm... the story I remember reading about Lords of Shadow from its website didn't sound anything like Castlevania.  There was no mention of Dracula, the Belmonts, or anything you would associate with it o.o

I remember it had something to do with Christmas.  Weird o__O

Well, it's probably as Kotaku says, the game having been retrofitted into a Castlevania due to the similarities being just too damning. Personally, I don't mind, and it's great to see another team getting involved in the series.

That'd explain the Kojima style.

Maybe it'd be intertwining stories. Gabriel wanted revenge for some shit, he learns his threat has ties to Dracula, while Alucard is dealing with whatever is going on that also has ties to Dracula.

I sincerely think the game announced at TGS is also this game, as the game has now vanished like Lords of Shadow did the moment the game was announced. Maybe the announcing at TGS was announcing LoS for Japanese release, but the kinks weren't down yet.

Yaknow, like how Sonic and the Secret Rings was called Sonic Heart of Fire or something similar for like, a couple of weeks?

I still find this at least relatively unlikely. Literally the only 'evidence" we have is a screencap from GamesPress; which I can't verify or find transcribed elsewhere.

IGN also has another image.

I can only hope this is false.

And why is that, exactly? People were annoyed that Lords of Shadow seemed awkwardly copying Castlevania, and Hideo Kojima being on board would at least give the game a chance of being amazing.

If he can't make a great 3D Castlevania game, this franchise is probably done as far as hopes of a good 3D game are.

Well, I hope this doesn't get in the way of the Alucard game they are planning.  Like, if they decide not to fund that project since this is supposedly a Castlevania game, and they'd probably come out on the same consoles and near the same time o.o

I have no issue with Kojima directing it. On the contrary, I think it's cool; I simply would've preferred that the title remain a non-castlevania title. Amalgamating it into the series like this does nothing but cheapen both parties involved.

I hope Kojima will let us play the interactive movie for a bit.

I'd be more interested in a hand-held Castlevania. Also, the responses on the NeoGaf forum are hilarious.
